In the multipurpose hall in Orahovica, the association of people with intellectual disabilities “Jaglac” Orahovica celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and the International Day of Volunteers with a festive program. In addition to many members and their families, the Virovitica-Podravine prefect Igor Andrović, the mayor of the city of Orahovica Saša Rister, the mayor of the city of Našice Krešimir Kašuba and many other representatives of city institutions and organizations attended the ceremony.
The ceremony began with an address by the president of the “Jaglac” association, Đurđa Šimatović, who thanked all those present for coming and for their support, and emphasized that this ceremony is very important for them because it combines two dates, December 3rd International Day of Persons with Disabilities and December 5th International volunteer day, since the association has a lot of volunteers, this day is as important to them as the day of people with disabilities.
Then the members of the Jaglac association played a short theater play.
Marija Šimatović, a member of the DI-MARC team, presented the project and the results so far in front of the “Jaglac” Association. She emphasized the importance of the educations that are carried out thanks to this project. Currently, live training is being conducted for a minimum of 25 candidates, and in the spring of 2025, another 45 candidates will have the opportunity for online training. This project enables people with disabilities to improve their digital marketing skills and be more competitive in the labor market.
