Anđela Đokić, Executive Director of MAMM DOO from Nikšić and a member of the DI-MARC
project team, gave a presentation on the DI-MARC project at the “Digitalization in Tourism”
meeting as part of the NEW ICONS (New Icon Women in South Adriatic Tourism) project. The
meeting was held on July 9, 2024, at the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro in Podgorica,
organized by the National Crafts Federation and the association of small and medium-sized
enterprises from the province of Bari, Italy.
DI-MARC project focuses on the implementation of digital technologies aimed at enhancing
inclusion. Anđela Đokić, a member of the DI-MARC project team, highlighted how this project
improves the digital marketing competencies of people with physical disabilities, enabling them
to work remotely. Through this project, people with disabilities acquire the necessary skills and
tools to navigate the modern digital environment successfully, contributing to their economic
empowerment and professional development.
The “Digitalization in Tourism” meeting aimed to connect female entrepreneurs and exchange
knowledge about the most innovative digital solutions applied in the tourism sector. Participants
from Montenegro, Albania, and Italy had the opportunity to share experiences and ideas,
significantly contributing to strengthening international cooperation and joint action in the field
of digitalization.
Đokić emphasized that digitalization is crucial for the future of tourism and that projects like DI-
MARC play a significant role in this process. The project not only improves inclusion but also
increases efficiency and competitiveness in the labor market, providing people with disabilities
with the opportunity for continuous learning and advancement.
This event once again confirmed the importance of international cooperation and innovative
solutions in developing sustainable tourism, and the DI-MARC project was highlighted as an
example of good practice in using digital technologies to achieve inclusive and sustainable
economic development.
