Dr Ivana Domazet, DI-MARC team member was elected Vice President of the Serbian Marketing Association

Dr Ivana Domazet, DI-Marc team member and Scientific Advisor at the Institute of Economic Sciences, has been elected Vice President of the Serbian Marketing Association (SEMA) for the next four-year term (2024-2028). SEMA is a professional, non-political, non-partisan, non-profit and non-governmental organization that gathers representatives of the academic community, researchers, managers and experts with experience in the field of marketing, as well as all natural and legal persons interested in the development of modern marketing theory and practice.

On 1 March 2024, the new leadership of SEMA was elected at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Belgrade. Prof. dr Saša Veljković, Full Professor at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade, was re-elected as President. Prof. dr Suzana Đukić, Full Professor at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Niš, and Ivana Domazet, Ph.D., Scientific Advisor at the Institute of Economic Sciences in Belgrade, were elected Vice Presidents of the Association, while Dejana Nikolić, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences at the University of Belgrade, will serve as a Secretary General. In addition to the leadership, the Presidency, the Scientific Council and the Supervisory Board of the Serbian Marketing Association were also elected.

The main objective of SEMA is to provide incentives and professional support to interested individuals, companies and institutions in the organization, development and improvement of scientific and professional work in the field of marketing. In addition, SEMA focuses on:

  • relevant and competent interpretation and highlighting of the true purpose and benefits of the marketing concept and marketing orientation under market economy conditions;
  • promoting elements of good business practice and ethical approach to market business development;
  • professional assistance and support for social institutions and state institutions as well as for profit and non-profit organizations in solving systemic, legal, theoretical and practical issues in their field of activity;
  • Cooperation with universities and other scientific organizations to improve curricula and programs to ensure high quality education and modern development of scientific and professional personnel in the field of marketing;
  • Defining specialized terminology from all marketing disciplines to enable the introduction of new knowledge into marketing activities and business practice;
  • the development of social awareness and professional conscience among the members of the association and thus the dissemination of professional and ethical behavior in marketing at local and international level;
  • organizing general and specialized scientific and professional meetings from all marketing disciplines – congresses, symposia, seminars, lectures, forums, panels, lectures independently or in collaboration with related organizations or scientific institutions and professional associations;
  • developing sponsorship practices and/or co-publishing for individual journals, including the special status of the scientific-professional journal “Marketing” as an official newsletter of SEMA;
  • the development of publishing activities through the publication of independent, joint or translated editions from all disciplines of marketing organized by SEMA or through cooperation with reputable domestic and foreign publishers; and
  • the promotion and support of certified programs in all marketing disciplines, including the sponsorship of reputable professional programs and lecturers from home and abroad, independently or in cooperation with other related organizations.
